It´s ancient temple, possibly as old as the village of Monte Gordo.
The history of this church is intertwined with the village, and because when the area was little more than a waypoint semi-nomadic fishermen, the faith of those who passed through there led to the construction of another temple.
The lack of permanent stand and that there is no control of the movement of sand took that it would end up being buried. Hence, the "new" Church, center of faith of Monte Gordo people, to rise up precisely on their traces.
