The Information Centre and Visitor Service in Cacela Velha, is based on the premises of the «Casa do Pároco» (House of the Father/Priest), a building belonging to the local parish and target of a rehabilitation work recently.

Oriented for interpretation of historical, cultural and environmental heritage of Cacela and Vila Real de Santo António, the Centre offers several informational materials in a small auditorium for the projection of documentaries and features an exhibition area.

Since this is a very important building in Cacela history and in the absence of a device that could make the reception of hundreds of people who visit this historic town, its rehabilitation has been designed so that there spent working in the spring of a Centre information, continuing to the west part to keep their housing functions reserved to the parish.

The structure will also be the starting point for the various possibilities of knowledge and enjoyment of the territory and of the cultural offer, which highlights the accompanied visits to Cacela or cultural tours regularly organized by the Research and Information Center of the Heritage of Cacela (CIIIPC).

The Centre is a one-story building, made of mud, with inner courtyard, whose eaves double shows us the antiquity of its construction, probably dating from the century. XVI, although primarily oriented in a different position, as shown in the old documentation.

Changed over the years, it has withstood the 1755 earthquake, certainly helped by buttresses that it presents today.
