"Para além do conhecimento" ("Beyond knowledge") is the slogan of Castro Marim Municipal Library, whose architectural design by José Alegria carries us off to the origins of a place inspired by Mediterranean culture. The library affords visitors the opportunity to read works of various genres and for all ages, as well as providing a reference section featuring the latest editions of the press. There is a space set aside for babies, an internet area, classrooms, a bar with patio and a 200-seat auditorium for conferences and performances.
