Quinta da Ria Resort, situated in the Eastern Coast, is a well-known golf attraction in the Algarve. Including two spectacular golf courses, Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima, both 18-hole golf courses with an unforgettable scenery.
This resort complex offers challenging golfing and a unique landscape to any visitor. Located just over half an hour from Faro International Airport, Quinta da Ria is perfectly integrated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, the most significant eco-system in the Algarve, comprised of a line of barrier Islands along the coast, making this protected wet-land a rich nature habitat for numerous biological species.
Special care was taken with in original design of the Ria course by the architect R. Rocquemore, in order to preserve this important natural habitat and to take advantage of is beautiful natural setting, which has already been described by experienced golfers as the most breathtaking golf course in the region. The pleasant see views and sandy beach islands, combined with the mountain landscape of the opposite site undoubtedly make Quinta da Ria a paradise for any golfer.
Quinta da Ria is a PAR-72 with 18 holes where five lakes were strategically built to create natural course hazards in the game, providing irrigation and maintenance to the natural fauna and flora. Thousands of carob trees, olive and almond trees are contributing to the natural balancing of this course.
Quinta de Cima is the sister course and it offers different and very unique characteristics: wide fairways and well based bunkers, the several lake and streams which calls for a good deal of precision playing. The water hazards of the course and the long fairways emphasise the need for a good club selection, challenging even the most experienced players.
