Once land of fishermen , Monte Gordo devotee of Nossa Senhora das Dores celebrates the feast in honor of the Patron Saint in the second end of September week, announcing the end of summer .

The festival also features a trade show, on the western side to Monte Gordo Casino, where traditional carousels are present and evenings are held several musical shows .

The most prestigious moment is the religious procession , by its very distinctive nature, that runs along the beach of Monte Gordo Beach , accompanied by thousands of devotees and also by fishing boats with their horns and firing rockets announce the passage of the religious procession.

In the evening , the festival features musical entertainment . The closure is celebrated with a spectacle of fire firework .
